What do I need to do to pick up my car?

  • Must have a release paper from the Whitman Police.
  • Have the full balance of service bill, usually cash only.
  • Have proof of ownership, identification (i.e. drivers license).

I was involved in a motor vehicle accident, what do I have to do?

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT PROCEDURE
You must report an accident in which someone is killed, hurt, or if there are damages in excess of $1,000.00 to a car or other property. A written accident report must be sent to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles and to the Police Department in the city or town where the accident happened within five days of the accident. Accident report forms are available at all police stations or download "Accident report form".


We make available copies of the Police report for a fee of $5.00

How can I get a firearms permit?

FIREARMS PERMITS
You can down load an "APPLICATION FOR LICENSE TO CARRY FIREARMS" . Fill out the application and make an appointment with Sgt. Harry Bates. He will go over the application with you. Contact Sgt. Bates by calling (781) 447-1212 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.


How can I get a copy of my criminal record for my employer?

CRIMINAL HISTORY
If you need a copy of your criminal record for the purpose of employment, you can down load a "PERSONAL CRIMINAL RECORD REQUEST FORM" or pick up a form in the lobby of the police station.
