Departmental Hours of Operation:
Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, at 7:30PM in the lower town hall meeting room. Other public hearings and special meetings are held as needed.
Department Description:
The Conservation Commission is a five-member board appointed by the Selectmen and is the local agency specifically charged with the management and protection of Whitman’s wetland resources. The Commission’s major duty is to interpret and administer the regulations of the Wetland Protection Act as they apply within the area of Whitman. All meetings are open to the public, and townspeople are invited to attend and to bring to the attention of the Commission members any questions or information relating to environmental affairs.Forms
